Distribution Establishment registration and/or agricultural representation in El Salvador
The distribution establishment registration and/or agricultural representation, is the first step in order to import or distribute agrochemicals and fertilizers in El Salvador, for this it is required to appoint a legal representative and a technical manager who must be a duly certified agronomist or agricultural engineer in El Salvador.
Requirements:
- Inscription application form at the Division of Registration and Audit.
- Authenticated copy of the college degree of the professional who will be the Technical Manager of the Establishment.
- Professional services contract.
- Photocopy of the Technical Manager’s DUI.
- In the case of companies, a photocopy of the deed of incorporation extended by the registry of commerce.
- Legal representative’s credentials.
- Inspection of the physical location where the establishment is domiciled.

Registration for fertilizers, agricultural and veterinarian supplies and pharmaceuticals and food products for animals in El Salvador
It is the administrative, technical and legal procedure through which every registration application of pesticides, veterinary products, animal foods, fertilizers or soil conditioners, are evaluated by the corresponding National Authority before the registration of a product. Technical active ingredients, formulated chemical pesticides or similar substances, agricultural tools and vehicles, agricultural microbiological pesticides, agricultural botanical pesticides.
Requirements:
- Inscription application form at the Division of Registration and Audit.
- Registration Certificate or Free Sale Certificate of export, issued by the ANC (Competent National Authority) of the country of origin, duly apostilled or authenticated before the Consulate of El Salvador, issued by no longer than one year.
- Original Certificate of Analysis provided by the formulating manufacturer, signed by the responsible specialist.·
- Original certificate of Qualitative and Quantitative composition, signed by the responsible chemical specialist.·
- Method of Analysis of the product components.
- Technical and commercial literature, which covers the summary of the efficacy studies of the formula against the pests it controls.
- Reports on the different containing capabilities and the type of materials it is made of.
- Labels and Pamphlets.
- Methodology for residue analysis (only for pesticides) which consists on the toxicity studies by skin contact, oral and breathing contact, skin irritation, eye irritation and skin sensitivity.
- Analytical standard of the active ingredient of the product (except for animal foods and fertilizers).
- Sample of the commercial product.

Registration Renewal
Once the registration is approved, a registration certificate is issued which has a validity period according to the type of product, detailed below:
- Domestic and professional pesticides –5 year validity.
- Veterinary products –5 year validity.
- Animal food products –5 year validity.
- Fertilizers and soil conditioners –10 year validity.
The renewal requirements are:
